Having been born and bred in West Auckland Jack has always been passionate about the outdoors in his own back yard. In his spare time Jack loves to catch a wave on his long board, take his lovely wife and daughter with their dog Jonesy for walks on the beach and inspire others through great adventures.

  • Vast sea kayak guiding experience in Auckland, Waiheke Island, Stewart Island and overseas
  • NZ Coastguard day skippers certificate
  • Extensive sea kayak adventures from the remote Subantartic Auckland Islands, solo Cook strait crossings, Auckland to Great Barrier, and the list goes on!
  • Honoured recipient of the Campbell Grierson Outdoor Pursuits Award (1999)
  • Recipient of AUT’s “True Grit” award for perseverance and determination in Outdoor Recreation.
  • Recipient of Adventure Philosophy’s ‘Good for life’ scholarship (2003)

Dan holds many years of experience and qualifications in the outdoor industry including a Diploma in Outdoor Recreation Leadership, Certificate in Business, NZOIA rock 1 and a Certificate in Pre Hospital Emergency Care. Dan is a proud family man, who radiates endless amounts of energy and enthusiasm – A fantastic guide!

 
Contract staff
Sea adventures hire several contract guides during their busy seasons, all of which hold current first aid certificates, extensive sea guiding experience and most will be a graduate from AUT’s Diploma in Outdoor Recreation Leadership course.
